Meet Alice

We’re really pleased to welcome Alice to The Candlelight, where she’ll be leading the team and running the show day to day.

Originally from Devon, Alice brings with her a wealth of experience, having spent time running her own pubs up in Scotland. She’s someone who understands what makes a place tick, not just operationally, but emotionally. At her core, she’s a true people person, with a natural warmth, sharp judgement of character, and a no-nonsense approach that keeps things grounded and real.

She’s the kind of person who simply gets hospitality. Not in a theoretical way—but in the way she reads a room, connects with people, and takes genuine enjoyment from making sure others are having a good time. That energy is infectious, and it shows up in everything she does.

Outside of the pub, Alice is happiest outdoors; running, mountain biking, river swimming, or spending time with her husband and their three dogs. She’s equally at home with a glass of wine in hand, a big laugh (which you’ll hear before you see her), and good company around her.

Most importantly, she brings a sense of ease, care, and positivity that fits naturally with what we’re building at The Candlelight.
