Meet our Head Chef | Danny Baker
If you’ve dined with us at The Cotley Inn before, chances are you’ve already experienced Danny’s cooking.
Having previously worked as Sous Chef at The Cotley, Danny stepped into his role as Head Chef at The Candlelight ready to take the next step in his career. Under the careful guidance of Dan Brown, Head Chef at The Cotley, he honed not only his culinary skills but also a deep understanding of margins, provenance, and the importance of letting great ingredients speak for themselves.
Danny shares our commitment to sustainability and reducing waste, something that plays a key role in how he approaches his menus. In the kitchen, he brings real energy and a naturally positive attitude. He believes that when the team feels supported and enjoys what they do, it shows on the plate, creating food that people genuinely want to come back for.
You’ll often find Danny at the bar after a shift, enjoying a well-earned pint and he’s always happy to chat, so if you see him around, do say hello.
